Inside Hollywood
This highly popular Miami workshop in Los Angeles gives students who are passionate about media an intimate look at Hollywood careers.
The three-week experience takes students inside the entertainment industry, including film and television preproduction, production and editing, script development, casting, entertainment law, administration and finance, development, distribution and marketing.
Two weeks of lectures, discussions, and on-site visits to studios and television networks are followed by one week of job shadowing a media professional - all in Los Angeles.
Some of the places we went to visit included ABC, The Rookie, NCIS, NCIS LA, EXTRA TV, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Paramount Studios, Warner Brothers Studios, and FOX.
My shadowing/internship placements were with EXTRA TV and NCIS.
At NCIS I focused on post production where I was able to learn about color correction, special effects, foley, ADR/looping, and sound editing.
